Thanks James! I remember you had a daily blog going a while back - that was inspiring to see. Great to know that you're continuing your writing journey.
There you are Lawrence! Welcome to Substack. Congrats on taking the next step with your work. I look forward to your to more of your inspirational writing- no need for long form all the time here and also no need five star Amazon validation. Believe in yourself 🔥🔥
Thank you Nick! I appreciate you sharing your thoughts with me about why The Inner Compass resonated via email. I believe I sent you a reply - thanks once again for doing that.
Thanks Chris! I actually read your recent post about being kinder to yourself this year - great piece. You distilled it well through this: "Less self-criticism, more self-compassion".
Thanks Anand - that would fall under 1:1 consulting, which I do on a limited basis. Feel free to shoot me an email - contact@moretothat.com - and I can see if it’s a good fit.
Welcome, Lawrence! It's funny how so many of my fav writers are suddenly moving to Substack. I have a feeling you're going to do great here - the algorithm is going to love you... and so will all the other people that have yet to discover you! :D
Happy to see you here, Lawrence. Reading this article made me witness your thought process of moving from abstract to concrete themes. I really loved the three aspects you are focusing on. Would love to know more about your journey of self-publishing your book (if you ever feel like sharing).
Thanks for the warm welcome, Rachna! And yes, I plan on diving into self-publishing, as I’ve learned a lot from my experience with The Inner Compass (and know what it takes for a self-published book to do well). I have so much to share about building a writing-based business, and I’m excited to dive into it.
Yes ☺️ I simply meant I am not a super active user checking for new posts on the regular, so while I may not extend very much exposure for you, I enjoy your content enough I hope my tiny reach adds at least a new set of eyeballs or 2 for you 👍🏼
Congrats on the transition over to Substack, Lawrence. I've been reading your newsletter for years, and it's nice to be able to engage with you and fellow super-fans of yours here!
Welcome to Substack, Lawrence. I hope you find it to be as terrific a place for professional writers as I have. Two things right off: 1) As you build your network with other Substack writers, you'll notice the uniqueness and nuances of this platform. 2) What you do on other platforms does not duplicate or replicate here. Just reposting what you wrote for a newsletter or other platforms will perform differently here, because of the culture and the professionalism of Substack. One more thing. Direct email and phone calls are best for networking here, instead of mass blast announcements or "likes" or behaviors we find in places like Facebook, Instagram, and other "megaphone" social platforms. Let me know if there is something specific you'd like to ask me.
In 2025, I discovered your blog (and newsletter), and it quickly became my favourite internet writings. Also, in 2025, I've come to love Substack, and found more and more amazing authors on the platform.
So happy to see both of last year's great discoveries come to one ;)
Hey Lawrence, I discovered your blog via one of the most popular post, "Travel is no cure for the mind," after Googling my doubts about constant travel.
We actually chatted via email a few months ago. :)

I love your content and have been following you for years! Welcome to substack and while I don’t “work”
This platform as I should - maybe you’ll get exposure to a handful of my other favorite folks too- ? Good luck! Keep expanding those horizons…
Thank you! The goal isn’t to “work” or “game” the platform, but simply to create the best stuff I can.

Excited for this next chapter for you, man!

Will you continue to publish on the blog too?
Hey Dima, that's amazing. How did you discover my work?
Yes, I'll continue to publish on the blog as well by cross-posting my work there. I think of Substack and my blog being synergistic in that way.
Looking forward to sharing more stuff with you!
